Favourite things

Claudia at Mocking Bird Hill Cottage is asking us to share our favourite things and one of my favourite things in life is having a cat sleep on my lap in the evenings.

CiCi loves to sleep on my lap, preferably with her back to me.

It took a long time to persuade her that this was an okay thing to do but now she has got there it is a very pleasant addition to evenings at our place.

For readers who don't know, CiCi was a stray that was hanging around our place when we moved here.

It took a long time to coax her into our lives but now she has decided we are okay as an adoptive family and has established her own little routine in our lives.

What a beautiful cat! My old cat, who has been gone for almost a year, would literally "yell" at me to sit down so he could sit on my lap!

She's so pretty! How wonderful that you took her in and she's become so trusting! I love when my dog Scout wants to snuggle - unfortunately, it has to be when she's in the mood!

Thanks so much for joining in this week.

Thank you, Claudie and Diane.

I think that CiCi would like me to sit down more often than I do for lap time, but most evenings we succeed and it is so nice.

Aww, she's a sweetie and reminds me a bit of my Sam. He was a stray that adopted us and took a while to say anything -- but when he finally did, he drove us nuts!! Cats are so wonderful!

Awe! That is so sweet. I love my baby cats too. :) We have a little boy Maine Coon that we have adopted because the people that foreclosed on their home down the street left him behind. How do people do that?! Yer girl is so cute! She probably thinks she is the luckiest kitty in the world. :)

Thank you, Liz. I love Maine Coons. I can never get over how big they are. We don't have so many of them in New Zealand so they are kinda special. We think our cat must have been left behind or abandoned. It would appear she has been desexed so she has had a real home at some time. She has a tear in one ear and some loss of teeth so in between homes she has managed to get a bit battered. So nice to give her a home for as long as she chooses to stay with us.

Cats certainly bring love and joy into your world. Petro, my flatmate, had 2 when I moved in. However about a month age there was a beautiful calico stray kitten at the hospital entrance who now has a home with us. When I get her speyed I have to find out hw to take her back to Oz when I return.

Awwwwww she's lovely Peg plus she's shown impeccable taste in where she's chosen to live. The purr of a kitty is so comforting. My Blossom is my trusty companion at night too ... she's wayyyyy too big for my lap but she's worked out how to get as close to me as she possibly can <^..^> .

I'm with you! There is nothing better than a cat on your lap. CiCi is a real beauty.... such a sweet face. I bet she has a wonderful purr when she's asleep on you that way. Have a lovely weekend!

Your CiCi is adorable and looks a lot like my youngest rescue. Did you know her coloring makes her called a tortoiseshell or tortie for short?
I have 3 rescues. Sarah Rose a charcoal grey and white; Sasha a calico; and Sabrina the tortie. Sabrina sleeps on my lap while I am sitting at my desk working. She loves to be rubbed all over expecially on her rump. You are both blessed! P.S. Love your work! Find some of mine here:
