Time to travel, again

Last September I had the opportunity to hold this little one in my arms in London.

All too soon l will have the opportunity to return once again and see for myself how my youngest grandson, Caleb, has grown.

On June 13 I take to the skies again to visit with family in London and Seattle giving me the chance to see all three of my grandchildren, Jackson, Anna-Clara and Caleb along with my sons and their spouses.

Haven't done anything like this for a while

Yes, it has been a while since doing any stitching quite like this.

Looks good, (well I think so), feels good so I had better carry on with it.

Life can be a knockout, sometimes

Hershey caught a mouse today, but then he dropped it and it ran away and hid.

At first he was upset but then what's a cat to do but take a nap.

I wonder if he is dreaming of the possibilities of more mice in the big world out there?

Everlasting Summer?

I had always considered May in New Zealand to be a cold, wet month but not this year.

Nearly half way through the month and we are still experiencing quite mild temperatures.  I think our first frost of the year will come as a bit of a shock after having waited so long.

Even the plants in the garden have continued to bloom way beyond their normal times so today I picked this lovely red rose from our garden.  How nice to still be able to bring such loveliness into our home to enjoy.

A Timely Reminder

Today Linda and I went to The Great New Zealand Quilt Show at Rotorua, a Biennial Exhibition by Aotearoa Quilters.

The quality of the quilts and quilting was excellent and we enjoyed having a good look around as well as a peek at the merchants mall.

Whilst viewing the quilts a lady came and spoke to me.  She has followed my blog for years and recognized me.  Felicity told me that has enjoyed following my blog and was disappointed that I had ceased writing in recent times.

A timely reminder for me that I need to be blogging again.

The image I have shared is from a small wall quilt that featured 3-D blue flowers, something I have long aspired to do. Maybe it is time.
