Surprised by Scraps

My latest work in progress has made me scrappily happy.

Based on Jen's In Color Order Chevron Quilt featured at Moda Bakeshop.com, it really is a very easy quilt to make.

I have already made one of these in Kiwiana fabrics and I enjoyed the process so much I thought it worth making another.

I have chosen modern brights for the nine patch component of the quilt.  Included are stripes and spots - fabric designs I usually avoid but in this structure I am really pleased with the way they are taking shape.

With all the best intentions in the world to complete the quilt top today, it was not meant to be - maybe tomorrow?
