I brought a pack of charm squares with me on my travels in the hope I might be able to share a little about hand stitching with my granddaughter, Anna-Clara. She really seemed to like the idea and I think this is not bad for a beginner’s effort.I was very pleased to find that the heart shape magnet I happened to have with me was an ideal substitute for pins. Nice for a young starter not to have worry about pin pricks.
She has made a cardboard box into a makeshift bed in readiness for the cat she hopes to get for her birthday in May (nothing like a bit of forward thinking) and she wants to sew these 5 inch squares into a ‘blanket’ for her cat.
