Granny squares update

My red, white and blue granny squares have now been sashed and are waiting their turn to be machine quilted.

I really like the floating effect of sashing with the red.

Red is really quite out of my comfort zone, being an autumn girl at heart, but I am happy with the outcome of this project.

I look forward to seeing the enhancement that machine quilting will bring.

Your flimsy looks great.

Red is not one of my favorite colors to sew, either, but last year I used a lot of it in Quilts of Valor. I have even more red in my stash to use.

Is Linda going to machine quilt it for you?

Your granny squares quilt looks great. I like the joyful colours which make me forget - for a few moments - that we have a grey and foggy winter day! I wonder how you'll quilt it. Stitch in the ditch or free motion quilting?
Greetings from the other side of the world,

Thank you, Barbara, for your lovely comments. I have family in Seattle and they are not seeing much sunshine either at the moment.
Glad you like the quilt and the bright colours, it will be quilted free motion style and the biggest challenge will be finding a thread that suits.
I look forward to being able to update you all on this.
